The Mississippi Baptist Convention emphasis for The Baptist Children's Village Annual Offering is scheduled around Mother's Day each year. As Southern Baptist Churches focus on family between Mother's Day and Father's Day, we encourage them to pray for BCV families who are struggling, and for the children who are in our care. We also appreciate their continued support and generous gifts to the ministry.
The goal for the Annual Offering is $390,000.

Because of caring supporters like you, David’s life was eternally changed.Today, David Rainey and his family live in New Albany,Mississippi. He and his wife, Martha, are busy raising three kids and passing on to them the same love he experienced at The Baptist Children’s Village.
But life wasn’t always easy for David.
He came to The Baptist Children’s Village from a home filled with chaos and abuse. There was constant shouting, and even gun fights between his mother and father. David was surrounded by anger from a very young age and grew to be a bitter, angry teenager.
He had no dreams or expectations. David didn’t even plan to graduate high school. Like so many of the BCV children you support, David needed to feel loved and have time to heal. It wasn’t easy, but over time he did heal.
In the summer after his ninth-grade year, he came to know the Lord, and the direction of his life was forever changed. David says of his experience, “The Baptist Children’s Village has
always been there for hurting children like me and others. Children need love, and they need someone to tell them they love them and are proud of them.”
Through the generosity of supporters and the love of Houseparents, David did graduate high school and start a new life. Now, David and Martha’s children all know the Lord and have many opportunities through sports and in the community to be a light for Him.
Your gifts change families for generations to come. As Satan wages war against families, we celebrate the victories God has had in David and Martha’s family and pray that He continues to heal and restore other hurting families in Mississippi through your support.
The Raineys are a beautiful example of how you are changing generations of families through The
Baptist Children’s Village. David’s life will never be the same, and neither will the lives of his children - Eathen, Rachel, and Joseph.
As Mother’s Day approaches, I am reminded through David’s story of the amazing impact our
Housemothers have in a child’s life:
“I came home from school one day and Momma J asked me what was wrong. I told her that I had had a bad day and everything seemed to be going wrong. She came straight to me and gave me a big hug and told me she loved me and was proud of me. I still remember that hug and those encouraging words.” — David Rainey
Thank you for providing our children with loving Housemothers like Momma J. Hurting children who come to The BCV especially need a hug, encouraging words, and to know someone cares about them. Your gifts make that possible.
Please continue changing young lives like David’s. Send a special Mother’s Day gift today. You will impact generations. We can’t thank you enough for all you do.
