The Dorcas In-Home Family Support Program is designed to minister to families who are near the point of collapse. The BCV Dorcas Program helps families create homes that are safe and stable for children. Dorcas Program staff helps families reach these goals by providing education and training in areas such as child-rearing and appropriate discipline, household budgeting and shopping, meal planning and preparation, and household safety and care. They assist families in obtaining community services such as healthcare, education and childcare. By reaching the family's goals, the likelihood that the children of these families will be taken into state custody is greatly reduced.
