Gift Appreciated Assets & Save
Gifting appreciated assets, like a stock, can help you avoid capital gains and take a tax deduction.
Stock Gifts
Gifts of appreciated stock may offer a better tax advantage than a gift of cash.
When you give the BCV appreciated securities that you have owned for more than one year, you will receive two tax benefits:
1. You are entitled to a federal income tax deduction based on the current fair market value of the securities, regardless of their lower original cost.
2. You will be exempt from paying capital gains taxes on any increase in value –
taxes you would pay if you sold the stock yourself.
Bequest
Support your ministry beyond your lifetime by including the BCV in your estate plans. You can know that BCV children and families will be cared for and shown the love of Jesus for generations to come.
Often such a gift can be as easy as adding a simple codicil to your existing will. Check with your personal attorney or financial advisor to learn more.
