Why We Do It

The Baptist Children’s Village mission is to help children and their families fully understand and experience the healing ministry of Christ by meeting their daily needs and inspiring them to become Christian adults who are happy, healthy and mature.

Mississippi Baptists purposed in the late 1800’s to provide a place where hurting Mississippi children could have their physical, emotional and, most importantly, their spiritual needs met.  It has been a priority of the ministry throughout its history to provide quality care and to share and model Christ’s unconditional love to children and families.

Mississippi Department of Child Protective Services (CPS) reports having 5,483 children in its custody.  In addition to those in CPS custody, there are many children who are still in their homes with their families who are struggling and need hope.  The Baptist Children’s Village exists to bring hope and healing to as many children and families as possible in Mississippi through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
