Kim's Story

Click here to meet Kim and hear her story.

My name is Kim Carpenter and this is my story.

I came to The BCV when I was seven years old and stayed until I graduated as valedictorian of my class. Gifts like yours helped me secure a sponsor and scholarship, so that I could pursue my bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting at Mississippi College. I worked for 16 years in corporate accounting before becoming a full-time mom.

Brad and I met at work and have now been married 10 years. My family means everything. Because of my experience at The BCV, I understand how important family is and what a blessing God has given me.

When my first child was born, I wanted everything for her that I didn't have for myself. Not material things, but the daily love of a mother and a father for the rest of her life.

I tell both my girls how blessed they are to have a mom and dad...a mom who is always there for them... a dad who takes care of them.

That was not my life when I was their age. I had never experienced a loving, Christian home until the day I came to The Baptist Children's Village.

I am so grateful for past supporters who gave me that chance. Without it, I don't know where I would be today.

I am also grateful for the gifts that allowed me to grow up in a Christian home at The Baptist Children's Village. Now, I want to give my girls that same experience.

In addition to the daily devotionals, my houseparents took me and the other BCV children to church every Wednesday and Sunday. It was one of those Sunday mornings at the First Baptist Church in Jackson when I surrendered my life to Christ. I was later baptized at First Baptist Church, Water Valley, and will always be thankful for that role The BCV played.

I know that changing one child's life at The Baptist Children's Village can change generations. The reason I strongly believe that is...I am that one child. The Baptist Children's Village changed my life forever because of loyal supporters like you.

And, I want to pass that love and care along to my girls.

Now, you know my story. A story of God's love and faithful supporters changing one little girl's life forever.

Please continue your support of the young girls and boys at The Baptist Children's Village. I can personally testify to the incredible impact your gift can have. Please give a gift today.

Mother's Day is just around the corner. You can honor your mother with a gift to The Baptist Children's Village.  You may give online here.

God Bless,

Kim Carpenter

P.S. As I love my girls and try to be the best mother possible, I am so thankful for the Christian foundation and lessons I learned at The Baptist Children's Village. This Mother's Day please continue helping children who need a loving, Christian home like I did. Please give a gift today.
