  The BCV is Expanding

You will remember that in I Chronicles 4:10 a man named Jabez called out to God in prayer.  He asked God to bless him by:  expanding his territory, remaining with him and keeping him safe.  God heard Jabez and blessed him by answering His requests.

Over these 110 years of ministry, and even in the most recent of days, The Baptist Children's Village has had a very similar prayer.  It is two-fold.

1.  We have asked God to expand our territory so that we can be more accessible to children and familes in need.  One way God has opened that door is by allowing us to expand our Deanash campus in Wiggins in 2006 and by adding the new Robbins Campus in Columbia this Fall.  We have acquired property in Winston County and anticipate opening a new campus in East Central Mississippi in 2008.  This will position the ministry to within 50 miles of nearly every child in Mississippi.  We continue to seek God's direction for this ministry and look for other ways He may want to expand our territory.

2.  Our prayer also is that God will bless and protect the children served through The BCV ministry.  He has allowed us to meet there needs in a very comprehensive way.  We do this by putting them on the S.A.F.E. Track program where we assess there needs and develop an indivudal plan of care for each child targeting these four specific areas:

Spiritual Growth

Academic Achievement

Family Values

Emotion Strength

God has heard our prayers, and yours as well, and He is blessing The Baptist Children's Village ministry.  As we look foward to what lies ahead, we remember where others have walked before in these 110 year years of ministry and we know that it is God who has, does and will continue to lead as we seek to serve these precious children.
